Why?
What a great way to get active and to buy fresh food direct
from the farmers!
Buying from a farmer's market has several benefits:
- An opportunity for you to buy fresh produce that has not
travelled a long distance with minimal use of packaging.
- More affordable prices for you and more profit for the farmer
without the usual middlemen.
- The price you pay goes straight to the farmer or producer and
will be used to further develop that business.
- An opportunity for you to meet and talk with the farmer.
- You help a small farmer, who doesn't have the supermarket
demanded quantities, to earn a living and keep the family farm
alive.
- By supporting a farmer's market you invigorate the town
centre and bring spirit back to the community.
