Welcome Free Range Pig Farmers!

Free Range Pig Producers has identified a need for support for all small scale pork producers,  Australia's smallholders make up around 70% of the total pig producers in this country.  The majority of these australian pig farmers raise their pigs a little differently to the commercial industry and sometimes help can be hard to find.  Raising a small herd of pigs outdoors can also present unique challenges. Our aim is to make information easily accessible, understandable and targeted to owners of small pig herds.  We provide a forum for exchange of ideas and experiences and a place where you can ask for guidance and help from other aussie pig farmers. General membership is free.

Pig welfare, humane handling and sound herd management are paramount to true free range pig farming. The organization lobbies for recognition of our industry and is currently working on truth in labelling by petitioning for a nationally recognized definition of the term free range to protect the future of your farming enterprise.
